Our firm has significant experience in interpreting and construing state and Federal statutes and case law in areas such as employment discrimination, affirmative action, sexual harassment, and employee benefits.

INSURANCE LAW

The firm concentrates a portion of our litigation experience in defending insurance companies against claims involving both personal injury and casualty losses. The firm has served as counsel to major national companies and smaller corporations involved in litigation in the State and Federal courts in this area. 

WILLS, PROBATE AND SUCCESSION LAW

Having the peace of mind and comfort of knowing that you have a completed your estate planning with a "Last Will and Testament" is important. Our office works hard to recognize this need and also to stay vigilant to changes in the law which would impact those needs. We offer the full array of Will and Estate planning in an effort to avoid the costly and difficult litigation that sometimes occurs when proper planning does not take place. The firm has also been involved in considerable contested litigations and settlements concerning estates as well as the filing and completion of numerous successions.

TORTS

Our firm has represented injured workers, personal injury victims and other litigants in selected actions. James A. Dukes has an extensive trial background in both prosecution and defense of criminal matters. His trial experience ranges from the trial of capital cases to the prosecution of minor traffic offenses and DWI cases. The firm has a close and familiar working relationship with the courts in the area which can provide the criminal defendant with an expectation of qualified and experienced local counsel.

WORKERS COMPENSATION

The firm has represented injured workers in the workers' compensation courts of Louisiana and has also provided legal representation to employers facing claims as well. Whether the owner of a small business or an injured employee, our clients can rely upon the expertise and experience of the law firm to insure competent and experienced local counsel in the defense or persecution of employee compensation claims.

CIVIL RIGHTS

The firm is familiar with and experienced in bringing civil rights actions under prevailing Federal statutory provisions.

Including organization documents for a limited liability companies or partnerships and other business organizations. The fee includes the initial report and filing with the Louisiana Secretary of State.

You may enter into your own agreement to purchase real estate without the added expense of real estate fees and commissions. Our purchase agreements are thorough yet not overly complicated and allow you as the buyer to control the process.
